Paula Tran is the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ State Health Officer and Administrator for the Division of Public Health. Paula was born, raised, and educated in Wisconsin, and her public health experience has focused on exploring and strategizing ways to embed health equity and empowerment concepts into public health practice, policies, and scholarship. Most recently, Paula was the director for the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) Group. Under her leadership, the MATCH Group has refined its efforts to work with partners to evolve practice, focus priorities and shift power to support collective action on root causes of health and equity.
